Recently I was reminded at how little time you have to make that first impression with a recruiter and how you need to make that connection quickly. Half the battle in conducting a search is finding the right candidates to talk to. Once I’ve identified a candidate that has the qualifications and experience, it is all about connecting within those first few minutes on the phone.
Next time you get a call remember to:
• Sound friendly and excited to get a call
• Engage in the conversation
• Avoid being monotone
• Be thoughtful with your response and get right to the point
• Show a genuine interest in the position
